You may be wondering what this means. Its really very simple, there is no hidden meaning. In order to be a writer, you have to write. Write in your spare time. Write whatever comes to mind. Write about your life, your family, your friends, your job, your outside interests, anything as long as you write every day for at least 15 minutes. Write what you know. The goal is to eventually find what you really want to write about.
You may have to force yourself to do this at first. The goal is to make it a habit in your life. A good tool for this “practice” writing is a journal, either a manual paper journal or an electronic journal. You have to do this to make writing a regular part of your life so that it stops feeling like a task that you must complete.
If writing doesn’t eventually become fun for you, if you don’t start looking forward to your writing time, you may not be destined to be a writer. But you have to find out or always wonder.
